2019 BMW Z4 Roadster officially unveiled
Months after teasing its design, BMW has finally unveiled the 2019 edition of BMW Z4 Roadster at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Monterey, California. Unlike the previous generation which came with a metal roof, this new third-generation Z4 features a soft top, along with updates in the exteriors, interiors and with under the hood changes. At a glance
The 2019 BMW Z4 offers a central sitting position for the driver along with 50:50 weight distribution and low center of gravity. Further, the updated roadster gets vertically-positioned headlights, new mesh-style BMW Kidney Grille and an electrically operated soft top. The new Z4 also gets large air intakes on the front, a new spoiler integrated into the rear lid and 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin
The new Z4's interior is pretty driver focused starting with a BMW Head-Up Display, BMW Live Cockpit Professional console comprising two digital displays and a three-spoke steering wheel. Further, the two-seater Z4 roadster gets electrically adjustable seats, Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, Vernasca black leather upholstery with decorative stitching and silver accents on the steering wheel and on the dashboard.
Under the hood
The first model in the 2019 Z4 line-up is the Z4 M40i First Edition. The car is powered by an inline 6- cylinder 3.0-litre engine which produces 382bhp and 500Nm of peak torque, allowing it to sprint from 0-100kmph in 4.6 seconds. The edition also features BMW M Sport suspension with electronically controlled dampers, M Sport braking system and M Sport rear differential.
