2018 Mercedes C-Class facelift launched in India for Rs. 40lakh
Mercedes-Benz has launched the updated C-class sedan in India. Currently available in diesel option only, the facelifted C-Class comes in three variants starting with the C 220d Prime which costs Rs. 40 lakh. The mid-end C 220d Progressive is priced at Rs. 44.25 lakh, while the top-end C 300d AMG Line costs Rs. 48.50 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India). Here's more.
2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class: At a glance
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class gets few design tweaks spread across the line-up. On the C 300d AMG Line, there's a diamond grille design while the other two variants sport a two slat chrome grille with center-positioned three-pointed star insignia. Further, the facelifted sedan gets new LED headlamps and taillamps, LED daytime running lamps, a revised front bumper, new alloy wheels and slightly tweaked ORVMs.
Inside the cabin
On the inside, you have leather upholstery with contrast stitching and plenty of chrome accents on the doors and the dashboard. Moreover, there's a 10.25-inch high-resolution infotainment display, a new steering wheel with dual touchpad control system, new-generation telematics, and NGT 5.5 smartphone integration for connectivity. Further, the C 300d gets AMG Line Saddle Brown and Black upholstery along with Active parking assist feature.
Under the hood
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is powered by a new BS-VI compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine. On the C 220d, the engine is tuned to offer a maximum power of 194bhp and 400Nm of peak torque. On the C 300d, the engine churns out 245bhp and 500Nm of peak torque. Notably, the diesel motor comes paired to a new 9-speed automatic gearbox that powers the rear wheels.
