Karnataka launches Rs. 10 crore fund for female entrepreneurs
A Rs.10 crore fund has been initiated by the Karnataka government for female entrepreneurs. Through this fund, the Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology would back any woman who's seeking funds for proof of concept validation, upto Rs. 50lakh. One iPhone hoarding at the cost of 27 trees?

Diagnostic laboratories come together, slash prices

Three school-going children die of food poisoning
A suspected food poisoning incident at a school hostel in the district of Tumakuru claimed the lives of 3 children, hospitalizing 2 others. Contractors face homicide charges for death of manual scavengers
In a first for the city, Bengaluru Police charged officials and contractors allegedly involved in the death of 3 manual scavengers with 'culpable homicide not amounting to murder.' This charge comes under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code; it is a non-bailable offence, the punishment for which can go up to 10 years in prison. However, no arrests have been made so far.
