Three election-related apps, week-long exhibition: Steps taken before Karnataka polls
Three election-related BBMP-developed apps were launched by CEC Om Prakash Rawat yesterday in Bengaluru ahead of the May elections. The apps are Election Quiz to test voter awareness, MCC Reporting for tracking violation of model code of conduct and Election Officers' Directory (database of numbers of poll officers) Moreover, a week-long exhibition on evolution of elections is also being held at Chitrakala Parishath.
10 MCQs to test your election awareness, can share result
In the Election Quiz app, there will be 10 MCQs to answer and one'd be ranked as per the performance, which they would be able to share on social-media. For example, one who scores full marks will be declared 'election genius'. The other app, the Election Officers' Directory, will have all important numbers, starting from flying squad members, returning officers, to MCC officers, constituency-wise.
Week-long exhibition to showcase evolution of elections
The week-long exhibition inaugurated yesterday by Rawat educates people of everything related to elections through 150 photographs. Through these images, one can learn about the evolution of the electoral process and various poll-related activities that have taken place till now. Apart from photographs, there will be also be 12 videos, 8 in English and four in Kannada informing people of history of elections.
Election Commission officers assess poll preparedness
Amidst all this, three officials of the Election Commission met with deputy commissioners and senior police officers to assess poll preparedness. They also examined the situation of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail counting booth model prepared by CEC officers in Bengaluru.
