Bengaluru's own mini Niagara Falls to be ready by January
Bengaluru's famous Lalbagh botanical gardens will soon have mini-Niagara falls on its premises. The artificial waterfall is expected to be ready by January, according to reports. whereas, trial runs are likely to be conducted within a fortnight. It has been in the works for over a year and is being administered by the public works department.
Lalbagh Lake will supply water to mini Niagara Falls
The waterfall is being built near the Lalbagh Lake, which will supply water to perform the cascading effect. The Rs 2.7-crore waterfall is being funded by the state horticulture department. It will have water falling down from a height of 25 feet and a width of 120 feet. This new addition to Lalbagh will pull not just tourists, but also people from the city.
It will boost lake's flora and fauna
Mini Niagara Falls is a green project that attempts to boost the lake's flora and fauna by reducing algae without utilizing chemicals. However, water from the Lalbagh lake will be pumped into the small lake using a 250 HP motor, thus creating again the Niagara.
