New tip for Bengalurean nerds: No vote, no complaints, okay?
They were the ones who protested when Bellandur Lake caught fire, emphasizing that this cannot be the fate of the other lakes in Bengaluru. They are the ones who promptly tweet about power-outages or jams, asking 'what is the government doing?' They can hold heated debates in cafes questioning the administration, but cannot come out and vote. Shame on you, Bengaluru's nerds!
They waste their one chance to elect the right government
This outrage isn't dumb-founded. 54.72%: This is Bengaluru urban area's polling percentage of this year, a fall from 57.38% in 2013. A special mention for Bommanahallii: a dismal 45%. The city's IT hub, Bommanahalli has places like Electronic City, Whitefield and Sarjapur and many of the city's 'educated' techies stay nearby. However, they chose to go on a vacation and not cast a vote.
Highest performer: Yelanhanka (55.81%), lowest is Hebbal (28%)
Out of 28 'nerdy' and 'elite' Bengaluru areas, Hebbal scored the lowest at 28% and Yelahanka, an area that's older than even Bengaluru, scored the highest at 55.81%.
Incessant complaints but no vote: Nahi chalega, nahi chalega
Listen up, you want technocrats with domain knowledge as ministers? If that doesn't happen, will you will never vote? You harp on how the city lacks proper waste management, then why not elect right government and push it it to do that? Instead of complaining about each and every fault in the city, vote and show that you care for your city, Bengaluru.
