KSRTC stalls Bengaluru-Coimbatore morning bus services
What's the story
The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has stalled the morning bus services in the sector connecting state capital Bengaluru with Coimbatore, after protests in Tamil Nadu (TN) started gaining steam.
TN is currently boiling in tension over protests about the Center's hesitation in constituting the Cauvery Management Board.
The state-run transport organization has almost ten bus services running in this sector.

Decision on night bus services later: KSRTC
"We took this decision following an advisory from our counterpart in Tamil Nadu. We will take a call on running night bus services later in the day," said a senior official from KSRTC.
Yesterday afternoon, members of Seeman-led Naam Tamizhar Katchi encircled a KSRTC bus running between Mysore and Coimbatore in Gandhipuram.
They attempted to damage it but were arrested before that.
What started
State-wide hunger strike started today in Tamil Nadu
TN's ruling AIADMK started the state-wide hunger strike from today even as SC agreed to hear the contempt petition filed by the government against the Center on March 31.
The protests erupted when the Center did not set up a board within six weeks of the SC's February 16 judgment citing the upcoming Karnataka polls, and sought an extension of three months.
Issue
What is the Cauvery issue?
This dispute refers to a 125-year-old dispute between Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry over sharing the water of the 765-km long Cauvery River.
Karnataka claims that it is solely the state's prerogative to share water, especially since it needs the river for drinking water and agricultural needs.
TN is angry that the SC, in its recent judgment, reduced their quota by 14.75tmcft.
