Bengaluru Airport Metro Link: BMRCL revises alignment, saving Rs. 1000cr
After submitting the detailed project report for the Airport Metro Link, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited said it revised the alignment near Cantonment Railway Station, linking Shivajinagar and Pottery Town metro stations. BMRCL MD, PS Kharola, said the revised alignment going through Bamboo Bazaar, instead of the original one, going from under the railway station, is safer, faster and also saves around Rs. 1000cr.

PS Kharola said: "There are three broad reasons (for revising alignment): Technical, safety, and financial. If you look at the technicalities, the earlier alignment was 1.8km long with sharp curves that would increase the time taken to reach Pottery Town by at least 2 minutes."
