Mangaluru: BJP organizes padayatra after cops deny permission for bike-rally
After BJP was denied permission to organize a bike rally in Karnataka's Mangaluru, the party leaders decided to embark on a walkathon from Jyothi Circle to the DC Office in the city. Karnataka BJP's Arvind Limbavali stated, "We have asked the BJP Yuva Morcha functionaries and office bearers to reach Mangaluru by four-wheelers and buses and take part in the rally since police have denied permission to use two-wheelers."
Permission denied to BJP's Mangaluru rally
On 4 September, Mangaluru Police Commissioner TR Suresh issued orders denying permission to BJP's bike rally for maintaining peace. Karnataka BJP President Yeddyurappa said they don't need anyone's permission for the rally being conducted by BJP's Yuva Morcha. The rally is to protest against Hindu activists' murders in Mangaluru, demanding Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai's resignation for backing anti-Hindu outfits.
