Bengaluru: Woman raped by ex-boyfriend, his friends for a year
The Bengaluru Police has arrested a 28-year-old private school dance teacher for allegedly raping his 23-year-old former girlfriend for over a year. According to The Times Of India, the accused, Andy George, also blackmailed the victim with her intimate photos and videos. George allegedly committed the crime along with his two friends— Santosh (28) and Shashi Kumar (30).
Duo met on social media 3 years ago
The report said George is a resident of Bengaluru's Vidyaranyapura, while the woman lives with her parents in northeast Bengaluru. The two met on social media three years ago, and their friendship turned into a romantic relationship. During their time together, the girl went to George's house and on outstation trips with him, where they captured their intimate moments on camera.
George started threatening woman after breakup
In June 2021, the woman reportedly broke up with George, which did not sit well with him. He threatened her with uploading her private footage on social media and raped her on multiple occasions at various locations. The culprit allegedly forced the woman to meet his two friends and recorded their moments with the victim as well.
George collected money from friends for having sex with victim
The TOI report further said that George used to collect Rs. 3,000-5,000 from his friends for having sex with the victim. Recently, the woman stopped meeting the trio, following which the accused opened an Instagram account and uploaded her private photos and videos. She then lodged a police complaint after which all three accused were arrested. Their recordings and electronic devices were also seized.
