    What's the story

India's Silicon Valley, Bengaluru has been ranked first, ahead of San Francisco, for the confidence of its business leaders in their digital environment based on people's skills and infrastructure.

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has conducted this survey, which considered the views of over 2,600 executives in 45 cities around the world, as well as one-on-one interviews with 15 business leaders.

    Others

Other Indian cities in top 4 apart from Bengaluru

Even though Indian cities are grappling with infrastructure deficit, pollution, and poverty, the business leaders remain optimistic.

Apart from Bengaluru, New Delhi and Mumbai have also been ranked highly on various parameters on the 'Digital Barometer'.

San Francisco came in second followed by Mumbai and New Delhi, while Tokyo, Yokohama and Berlin were placed in the bottom 5.

    Information

Parameters considered for the cities' ranking

The four broad parameters considered by the EIU report to rank cities are: digital security, health security, infrastructure security, and personal security. Overall environment, innovation and entrepreneurship, financial environment, people and skills, development of new technology and ICT infrastructure were the considered factors.
