Want to go to NKorea, China, Canada? Book an Ola!
Whoever said NKorea is the most elusive place on earth probably didn't have Ola. The cab-hailing app is allowing people to book taxis from India to NKorea, China, Canada and where not. A 21-year-old Bengaluru youth managed to book one to NKorea at an estimated fare of a staggering Rs. 1,49,088. The company even sent a driver to pick the rider up!
He was sent a 4-seater for a 5-day trip
Ola confirmed the booking, sent trip details, OTP
On Saturday, Prashant Shahi opened his Ola app 'to check North Korea's road connectivity to South Korea,' since North Korea was trending that time. While he was on the interface, he 'noticed the option for booking a cab.' He booked his cab and got the ride and driver's details, confirming his booking. Then he took a screenshot and flagged the technical glitch on Twitter.
Ola suggested phone reboot. Didn't help. Others booked till Canada
Ola did not respond immediately, till a similar tweet by a Rohit Menda got their attention. The company acknowledged it is a bug and rebooting the phone will solve it. When it did not, Ola tweeted that a team is working on it. However, Menda's friend booked a cab successfully till Great Wall of China at 9:30am this morning, meaning the glitch still persists.
