Bengaluru teen abducted, gang-raped for 10 days; four arrested

A teen girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped at a lodge in Bengaluru for 10 days, city police revealed on Wednesday.
The police rescued the girl and arrested four men on November 4 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The girl's father had filed a missing complaint at KR Puram police station on October 30.

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012
Formulated in 2012, the POCSO Act defines a child as any person younger than 18 years. It protects children from offenses of sexual assault, sexual harassment and pornography and provides for establishment of special courts for speedy trials of such offenses.

One of the men was friends with the girl
Three of the accused are friends aged between 22 to 25 years. The fourth is the 55-year-old operator of the lodge where the victim was kept and repeatedly raped.
According to the police, the prime accused, who has a tea shop at Whitefield, had made friends with the girl before he took her to the lodge on October 26.
