Bengaluru cop goes beyond call of duty, breastfeeds abandoned baby
What's the story
When a baby is born, it calls for a celebration, but for this little one, there was nothing, because there was no one to celebrate.
In fact, he was abandoned right after his birth, with the umbilical-cord still wrapped around his neck.
But he survived.
Courtesy Bengaluru-Police, who treated him, took care of him and even breastfed him, naming him after their newly-sworn CM.

Lying abandoned at a construction-site, he was in terrible shape
Little Kumaraswamy, as the kid is known now, was found by a rag-picker last week, in Doddathoguru, South Bengaluru.
He was lying motionless at a construction-site in Celebrity Layout, stuffed in a plastic bag.
The rag-picker alerted a shopkeeper, who in turn informed the police.
ASI Nagesh arrived at the spot and rescued the baby, who was in terrible shape and covered in blood.
Journey
After getting treated, the infant was brought to a police-station
Nagesh did the obvious and admitted him to a nearby hospital.
After Kumaraswamy received treatment, he took him to his police station and asked a lady constable to take care of him.
Archana, the constable, observed that the baby was extremely weak and had no life in him.
She took pity in the sad state of the kid, and then did something exemplary.
What a call!
Motherhood: The lady constable took pity and breastfed the baby
She started breastfeeding the baby and within seconds, the baby gave out a gusty cry, this time commanding a celebration.
The baby's cries uplifted Nagesh's mood, who rushed out to buy some clothes for the infant.
It was only possible for Archana (pictured) to breastfeed because she herself gave birth three months ago, and joined her service after being in maternity leave, Nagesh said.

Happy ending
Kumaraswamy now in an orphanage, under good care
Elucidating on the christening, Nagesh said, "It's the government's baby now, and we decided to name him Kumaraswamy as it'd be under the care of the government."
The infant (recent picture) is being taken care of by an orphanage, Shishu Mandir, situated on Hosur Road.
There are babies who die after being abandoned, but this one surely was lucky to get such amazing life-savers.
