21-year-old girl from Bengaluru confronted a pervert after he took pictures of her, and made inappropriate gestures at her in a metro train. Surprisingly, the metro security personnel let the accused go as he claimed to delete her pictures from his phone. BMTC is partnering with C-40 Cities, a network working towards climate change and driving urban action, to implement its plan of purchasing 150 electric buses. Bengaluru: Three youngsters arrested who had looted Rs. 34 lakh
A police team, conducting checks for Independence day, arrested three Mumbai residents from a luxurious hotel on Lavelle Road, who had stolen Rs. 34 lakh from ATM kiosks in Maharashtra. Three mobile phones, five gold rings etc were recovered from their room. The trio vacationed in Kashmir, Kullu-Manali, Goa and then came to Bengaluru.

Aadhaar poses security challenges, admits Nandan Nilekani
Days after an IIT-graduate was accused of hacking into the Aadhaar database, former chairman of UIDAI, Nandan Nilekani, admitted that security was a big concern for Aadhaar. But he added UIDAI has the best security systems in place. He also dismissed hacking reports, saying, "People have tried to get access to OTPs, game others' details and capture them. It's not really a hack, though."

10 lakh hectares of Karnataka land lost to drought
According to agriculture department data, Karnataka had 107.38 lakh hectares under cultivation in 2000-01, which has now fallen down to 97.64 lakh hectares in 2016-17. Karnataka had three successive droughts and is likely to have another. Agriculture minister Krishna Gowda said this happend due to four reasons- rainfall, migration, non-leasing of lands and shifting to more profitable horticulture.
