    What's the story

A 27-year-old man was arrested in Bengaluru after a woman accused him of sexually harassing her.

On April 30, the accused, an auditor with a private firm, unzipped his trousers and flashed at the woman aboard a metro train.

When she raised an alarm, co-passengers pounced on him and started thrashing him before surrendering him to Jayanagar police.

He's now stationed in Central Prison.

    Warned him

She felt the man was pressing himself on her

According to the complaint, the 30-year-old woman was en route to Banashankari from Rajajinagar station around 5:15pm.

She felt someone was pressing himself on her, so she warned him to keep a distance.

Praveen B Hegde, resident of Konanakunte in South Bengaluru, gave the excuse of the metro being crowded.

After sometime, Hegde unzipped his trousers and started ejaculating in front of her.

    Arrest

He was thrashed badly before being surrendered to police

Disgusted and enraged, the woman alerted her co-passengers, who grabbed him and started beating him black and blue.

Cops said Hegde, a native of Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district, underwent a medical examination before he was remanded to judicial custody on Tuesday.

He faces charges under IPC Sections 294 (obscene acts), 354A (sexual harassment by physical contact) and 354D (stalking).
