Bengaluru: Man drowns in stormwater drain, body discovered 5km away
A 32-year-old man died after allegedly being swept away in a stormwater drain in the Kempapura Agrahara area of Karnataka's Bengaluru on Sunday, reported ANI. According to reports, the deceased, identified as Lokesh, drowned the same day a 22-year-old employee of Infosys died after her car was submerged in a waterlogged underpass. Lokesh was a housekeeping staffer at a private firm.
Lokesh accidentally slipped into drain: Police
According to News18, Lokesh was found dead in Byatarayanapura, around five kilometers from where he slipped and fell into the drain. The police suspected that Lokesh tried to gauge the depth of the stormwater drain and accidentally slipped into it. However, his relatives have denied this claim. A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Kempapura Police Station.
