    What's the story

After a month since its launch in Bengaluru, HeliTaxii fleet is going to get bigger.

India's first air taxi service is all set to get another chopper, for HAL Airport-KIA route.

The new chopper will shortly be put into operation for which talks are on with ITC Gardenia, Le Meredien, and few other star hotels for using their rooftop helipads.

    Yet to pick up

Till now, 175 passengers have taken HeliTaxii in Phase 1

In Phase 1, the HeliTaxii service runs between International Airport and Electronic City for which the response has been encouraging.

The concept is new, so it's yet to pick up, says Kerala-based Thumby Aviation Pvt Ltd, the parent company.

It added that till now, 175 passengers have traveled with them, with 5-6 passengers per day roughly.

Heli-Taxii plies even if there's just one passenger.

    Why wait?

Tickets around Rs. 4K, plies in two shifts

On the first day of its operation in March, it had made nine trips.

It uses a Bell 407 helicopter that can accommodate six passengers, with each ticket coming around Rs. 4,130 (GST included).

It runs in two shifts from 6:30 AM-9:30 AM and 3:30 PM-6:30 PM.

For booking a ticket, one can download the HeliTaxii app (available for Android and iOS).
