Bengaluru: 400 Wi-Fi spots, a Mayor's bungalow - BBMP budget
It can be easily said that the recent Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike budget is not for citizens, but for the netas. While the city people will get to enjoy Wi-Fi in 400 new spots, the Mayor and the commissioner will get Wi-Fi in their bungalows too. Further, Rs. 60L has been set aside for two cars to carry national and international dignitaries.
Wi-Fi spots announced, but no budget set aside
While the budget for setting up the Wi-Fi spots has not been discussed, Rs. 5 crore was earmarked for the bungalows. The other things presented were: Helipads will be built for air ambulances Rs. 1 crore earmarked for construction of a 'dhobi ghat' 'Kannada' bus-stand to promote the language Longest five-way wooden skywalk at Hudson circle Free safety kits and meal for civic workers
