Yamaha YZF-R7 sports bike in the works; launch in 2022
Yamaha is reportedly working on a fully-faired sports bike called YZF-R7 that will be based on the MT-07 naked streetfighter. It will be launched in 2022. It shall fill the void between R3 and R1 models in Yamaha's line-up and come with a full-LED lighting setup and a digital instrument console. It will run on a 689cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. The bike should have a split-seat setup
The Yamaha YZF-R7 should sit on a diamond frame and have an eye-catching look, featuring a sloping fuel tank with extensions, a stepped-up seat, a stubby exhaust, and a raised windscreen. The bike will pack a digital instrument console, an all-LED lighting setup, and should ride on orange-rimmed alloy wheels.
It will run on a 73hp, 689cc engine
The Yamaha YZF-R7 should draw power from a 689cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that generates a maximum power of 73hp and 67Nm of peak torque. The mill should be linked to a 6-speed gearbox for handling transmission duties.
Disc brakes on both the wheels shall ensure safety
To ensure the rider's safety, the Yamaha YZF-R7 should be equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels along with cornering ABS and multiple riding modes. Suspension duties on the motorcycle should be taken care of 41mm KYB inverted forks on the front side and a mono-shock unit with spring preload adjustment on the rear end.

The Yamaha YZF-R7 fully-faired sports bike will make its global debut next year but is unlikely to make its way to India. However, if it does, it should cost around Rs. 8 lakh on our shores.
