Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid, with 689cc engine, launched
Japanese automaker Yamaha has unveiled the World Raid variant of its Tenere 700 motorcycle. It is unclear whether it will be available in India. As for the highlights, the bike has an aggressive design and offers a TFT instrument cluster as well as dual fuel tanks. It draws power from a 689cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that makes 72.4hp of power.
Why does this story matter?
The Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid offers better features and improved mechanicals as compared to the standard Tenere. It has a claimed range of over 500km between refuelings and should rack up decent sales in the overseas markets. If the two-wheeler makes its way to our shores, the competition in the luxury ADV segment will be raised to a great extent.
The bike has spoked wheels and two color options
Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid sits on a double-cradle frame and has dual fuel tanks, a split-style seat with a flat design, a radiator grille, large footpegs, upswept exhaust, handguards, and a raised windscreen. The bike packs a 5.0-inch Bluetooth-enabled TFT instrument console and rides on spoked wheels. It can store 23-liter of fuel and is offered in Icon Blue and Midnight Black shades.
It is fueled by a 72hp, 689cc engine
Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid is powered by a 689cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that generates a maximum power of 72.4hp at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 68Nm at 6,500rpm. The mill is linked to a 6-speed gearbox.
It gets disc brakes on both the ends
In terms of safety equipment, the Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with 3-mode switchable ABS for better handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the bike are taken care of by 43mm KYB forks on the front side and an aluminium piggyback shock absorber on the rear end.
