Prior to launch in India, specifications of Yamaha FZ-X leaked
Yamaha will launch its FZ-X adventure bike based on the FZ-S FI V3 in India by June. The upcoming two-wheeler will have a rugged look and should come with a digital instrument console, an LED headlight, and 17-inch alloy wheels. It should draw power from a BS6-compliant 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine linked to a 5-speed gearbox. Here are more details.
The bike should come with knuckle guards
The Yamaha FZ-X will have a sloping fuel tank, a stepped-up seat, a beak-like front fender, a bash plate, knuckle guards, and a raised windshield. The bike should house a digital instrument cluster, an LED headlight, a bulb taillamp, and ride on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in block-pattern tires. The vehicle will have a wheelbase of 1,330mm and a gross weight of 289kg.
It will run on a 12hp, 149cc engine
The Yamaha FZ-X will draw power from a BS6-compliant 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The mill generates a maximum power of 12.2hp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 13.3Nm at 5,500rpm.
Disc brakes on both wheels will take care of safety
To ensure the safety of the rider, the Yamaha FZ-X will be equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with ABS for better handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the motorbike should be taken care of by telescopic forks on the front side and a mono-cross unit on the rear end.

The pricing and availability details of the Yamaha FZ-X in India will be revealed at the time of launch. However, it is expected to sport a price-figure of around Rs. 1.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
