Mercedes-Benz plans to launch 22 cars by 2027
What's the story
Mercedes-Benz, the famous German automaker, is gearing up for an ambitious expansion plan in the next two years.
The company plans to launch over a dozen new models, eight redesigned versions of existing cars, and two innovative concept vehicles.
The move comes after recent challenges like reduced deliveries and profits.
The expansion will target stabilizing global production and sales in key markets like the UK.
Electric focus
EQ electric strategy to drive new launches
The upcoming launches are mainly focused on the second phase of Mercedes-Benz's EQ electric strategy.
The company intends to offset it with the launch of updated internal combustion engine (ICE) models.
This includes new-generation mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid drivetrains, which will be a major step in their commitment to sustainable automotive technology.
Upcoming models
What to expect in 2025
The third-generation CLA saloon will spearhead the new model rollout for Mercedes-Benz.
The compact model will be unveiled next month and followed by five other compact cars based on the Modular Mercedes Architecture (MMA) platform.
The electric CLA saloon, which will hit showrooms later this year, promises over 740km of range on a single charge from an 85kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery.
Dual launch
Hybrid and electric variants of CLA saloon
Six months after the electric CLA saloon, a hybrid model will be launched.
This version will come with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor in the gearbox for up to 188hp.
Both versions of this model line will be branded as CLA saloons, making it the first Mercedes-Benz model line to include both ICE and EV variants.
Upcoming reveal
Mercedes-Benz to unveil CLA Shooting Brake wagon
After the CLA saloon, Mercedes-Benz will launch the CLA Shooting Brake wagon. It will debut in electric form, with a petrol variant arriving in late 2025.
Both the versions of this model will share drivetrains with the CLA.
Another major launch this year will be an electric version of second-generation GLC SUV, which will be revealed at the Munich Motor Show in September.
