Mahindra Thar's delivery time goes down in April 2024
Mahindra has successfully reduced the waiting period for its popular Thar model, due to an increase in production and monthly deliveries. Customers can now expect to receive their 4x4 variants within two months of booking, a decrease from the previous three-month wait time. However, the waiting period for the 4x2 variants remains high at up to 10 months.
Now wait less for Thar's 4x4 variants
The wait time for the 4x4 versions of the Thar has dropped to an average of six weeks to two months across all variants, including petrol, diesel, hardtop, and soft-top. The 4x4 is available with a 152hp, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine or a 132hp, 2.2-liter diesel mill. Both powertrains come with either a manual or automatic six-speed gearbox.
The 4x2 variants maintain a longer wait time
Despite the overall decrease in wait times, the diesel 4x2 versions of the Thar still have a maximum waiting period of nine to 10 months. The petrol versions, however, have a shorter waiting period of up to four months. Thar 4x2 is available with either a 1.5-liter diesel engine or a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol mill from the Thar 4x4. The diesel variant offers only a manual six-speed gearbox, while the petrol version comes with an automatic six-speed unit.
How much does the car cost?
Current prices for the Thar 4x4, range between ₹14.30-17 lakh for petrol models, and ₹14.85-17.60 lakh for diesel variants. Costs for the Thar 4x2 are between ₹11.25-14 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
