Volvo XC90 Excellence to be launched on September 3
Swedish automaker Volvo is all set to expand its four-wheelers line-up in India by introducing a top-of-the-line variant to its XC90 SUV. Titled as the Excellence, the new model will launch in India on September 3 at a price of over Rs. 1 crore. The new variant comes loaded with a bunch of luxury features like ventilated seats, massage function, in-car refrigerator, and more.
Here's a look at the Volvo XC90 Excellence
The Volvo XC90 Excellence features a head-turning look with a tall stance. Up front, it comes with a chrome finished grille, trapezoidal air-intake, and sleek headlamps. On the rear side, the car gets dual exhausts, body-colored roof spoiler, and a 3D brand logo. Further, the silver colored front and rear bumpers, roof rails, and chrome work around windows add to its premiumness.
Inside the cabin
The Volvo XC90 Excellence comes with a luxurious four-seater cabin with electrically adjustable ventilated seats wrapped in leather upholstery. As for electronic features, the car sports a 12.3-inch primary instrument panel, 4.3-inch rear touchscreen console, and Bowers & Wilkins sound system. Apart from that, it also gets premium features like massage function, four-zone climate control with air purifier, and an in-car refrigerator.
Power and performance
The SUV is powered by a 1,969cc T8 Twin, supercharged and turbocharged SOHC engine paired with a plug-in hybrid technology. This motor is capable of producing 400bhp of maximum power and 640Nm of peak torque. Further, the engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Volvo XC90 Excellence: On the road
The braking duties on the Volvo XC90 Excellence are handled by disc brakes on both front and rear wheels. The SUV gets a bunch of safety features including ABS, EBD, driver alert control, electronic stability control, hill start assist, and a speed limiter. It comes with front, side as well as curtain airbags, air suspension system, and seat belts with reminders and pretensioners.
And, what will be the pricing?
Understandably, with its premium design, luxury features, powerful engine, and advanced safety features, the Volvo XC90 Excellence won't come cheap. Presently, Volvo XC90 line-up falls under Rs. 80 lakh to Rs. 1.31 crore price bracket and we expect the upcoming variant to cost somewhere around Rs. 1.21 crore in India. Lastly, it will lock horns with rivals such as BMW X7 and Audi Q7.
