Here's what the new India-bound Volvo S90 sedan offers
Luxury carmaker Volvo has unveiled the facelifted version of its S90 sedan. The new car comes with minor design tweaks, a bunch of premium features, and mild-hybrid technology, which is touted to be 15% more fuel-efficient. Reportedly, the facelifted model is likely to grace our shores sometime in early-2021. Here's everything to know about the new S90.
A look at the new Volvo S90
The facelifted Volvo S90 comes with a spectacular design with a revamped front bumper, a sleek chrome-finished grille mounted with the company's emblem, and sloping roof design. It gets an angular-looking side profile with chrome highlights around the windows as well as diamond-cut alloy wheels. Besides that, the luxury sedan houses indicator-mounted ORVMs, LED fog lamps, and C-shaped LED taillights.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the new Volvo S90 offers a luxurious five-seater cabin featuring power-adjustable ventilated seats wrapped in leather, an in-built air purifier, a panoramic sunroof, and a multifunctional steering wheel. As for technology and infotainment, the car houses a fully-digital instrument console, a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging support, and a new Bowers & Wilkins sound system.
Power and performance
Under the hood, the Volvo S90 will be offered with a new mild-hybrid powertrain. The company has not revealed the mechanical specifications of the updated engines, but the new tech is said to be 15% more fuel-efficient than the conventional fuel-powered motors.
And, when will it arrive in India?
There is no official word on the pricing and availability of the new Volvo S90 in India yet. But, going by the reports, the premium sedan is likely to hit Indian roads sometime early next year. Meanwhile, the pre-facelift version of the S90, the D4 Inscription, is available in India at Rs. 58.90 lakh.
