Volkswagen Vento sedan available with benefits worth Rs. 2.4 lakh
Volkswagen Vento is all set to exit production in India after a 12-year run. With its successor, the Virtus, ready to be unveiled on March 8, the company has announced benefits worth up to Rs. 2.4 lakh on the Vento. The break-up of benefits is unclear as of now and the offers may vary based on location and variants.
Why does this story matter?
Volkswagen has seemingly decided to make the last days of Vento worthwhile for the buyers. Although a date hasn't been set yet, it is clear that the aging Vento will be soon out of production. Twelve years in production attests to the sedan's quality, and the benefits offered will attract those who still want to get their hands on the car.
The sedan has a muscular bonnet and a sloping roofline
The Volkswagen Vento has a muscular hood, a sloping roofline, a slim honeycomb mesh grille, a wide air dam, LED headlights with DRLs, wrap-around taillamps, and fog lights on the front and rear. On the sides, it sports blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Dimensions-wise, it has a wheelbase of 2,553mm and a ground clearance of 163mm.
A BS6-compliant 109hp petrol mill powers the car
The Volkswagen Vento draws power from a BS6-compliant 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, TSI petrol motor that churns out 109hp of maximum power and 175Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
It offers automatic climate control
The Volkswagen Vento features a 5-seater cabin with leather upholstery, automatic climate control, voice control, key-less entry, a height-adjustable driver's seat, cup holders at the front and back, and a 3-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. It packs a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For safety, the car has four airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

The Volkswagen Vento starts at Rs. 9.99 lakh for the Highline MT model and goes up to Rs. 14.79 lakh for the Highline Plus AT variant. The Matt Edition starts at 13.36 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
