Volkswagen to launch Tiguan AllSpace SUV on March 6
German carmaker Volkswagen is all set to launch the Tiguan AllSpace SUV in India on March 6. The seven-seater car, which made its debut at the recently-concluded Auto Expo, will replace the existing five-seater Tiguan model in the country. Notably, the full-sized SUV will be offered with a BS6-compliant petrol engine with an automatic transmission system. Here are more details.
A look at the Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace
The Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace sports a bulky stance featuring an appealing front fascia with a chrome finished grille, wide air-intakes, and a muscular-looking front apron with sculpted lines. The car gets an appealing side profile with chrome garnishing surrounding the windows, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and indicator-mounted ORVMs. Besides that, it houses roof rails, dual exhausts, and all-LED fitments for lighting.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace offers a luxurious seven-seater cabin featuring a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, and three-zone automatic climate control. The car houses a fully-digital instrument console and a touchscreen infotainment system. For safety, the SUV offers seven airbags, ABS with EBD, a rear camera with parking sensors, and a bunch of driver-assist features.
Power and performance
Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace will be available with a BS6-compliant 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine which comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that sends power to all the wheels. The unit is capable of producing 190hp of maximum power and 320Nm of peak torque.

Volkswagen will reveal the official details of the Tiguan AllSpace at the launch event itself, which is set to happen on March 6. As for the pocket-pinch, the car is likely to fall under Rs. 35-40 lakh bracket. Once launched, it will go up against Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, and Ford Endeavour.
