Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace to be launched in India in early-2020
Volkswagen is gearing up to launch the seven-seater Allspace variant of its premium SUV, the Tiguan, in India sometime in early 2020. In the latest update, ZigWheels has claimed that the upcoming car is likely to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo in February and will be available in a single BS6-compliant petrol engine option. Here are the finer details.
How will it look like?
The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace was recently spotted testing on Indian roads. Going by the spy shots, we expect the car to come with a comparatively bigger look as compared to its five-seater sibling. The car will feature a chrome-finished grille along with the company's emblem on the front. Besides that, it will also get roof rails, indicator-mounted ORVMs, alloy wheels, and dual exhausts.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is likely to offer a spacious seven-seater cabin with powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a multifunctional steering wheel with cruise control. The SUV is also expected to house a fully-digital instrument cluster and an infotainment unit with connectivity features. Furthermore, it should offer all standard safety features including driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, and more.
Power and performance
The Tiguan Allspace will reportedly be powered by a BS6-compliant 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine which comes mated to a 7-speed direct-shift gearbox (DSG), that sends power to all the wheels via company's 4MOTION all-wheel drive technology. The said unit is capable of producing 190PS of maximum power and 320Nm of peak torque.
And, how much will it cost?
The details regarding the pricing of the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace are not known as of now. However, the report has claimed that the car is likely to cost somewhere around Rs. 45 lakh (on-road).
