Ahead of launch in India, Volkswagen Taigun's features revealed
Volkswagen is expected to launch the Taigun SUV in India later this year. It will be based on the company's MQB-A0-IN platform and will share several features with its recently-unveiled cousin, the SKODA KUSHAQ. The Taigun will have an all-LED lighting setup, ventilated front seats, a 10.0-inch touchscreen console, and 188mm of ground clearance. Here's our roundup.
Taigun will have a length of 4,220mm
The Volkswagen Taigun will feature a narrow chrome grille with dual horizontal slats, a large air dam, silvered skid plates, and LED headlamps as well as taillamps. On the sides, it will be flanked by roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, power-adjustable ORVMs, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Dimensions-wise, the car will be 4,220mm long, with a wheelbase of 2,651mm and a ground clearance of 188mm.
It will be offered with two engine choices
The Volkswagen Taigun will be available with two BS6-compliant petrol engine options: a 1.0-liter TSI mill that produces 109hp/175Nm and a 1.5-liter TSI EVO unit that generates 148hp/250Nm. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter automatic, and a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
The SUV will offer a 5-seater cabin with dual-tone dashboard
Volkswagen Taigun will have a spacious 5-seater cabin with ventilated front seats, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, a dual-tone dashboard, power windows, 2-zone automatic climate control, and an adjustable steering wheel. It will also pack a fully-digital instrument cluster and a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For safety, it should offer multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, and a rear-view camera.
