Volkswagen's iconic Golf GTI confirmed for India: Check launch timeline
What's the story
Volkswagen has officially announced its plans to bring two new models, the Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Tiguan R-Line, to the Indian market. The company is targeting an early Q2 2025 launch.
Both vehicles will be brought in as completely built-up (CBU) units, which could make them pricier owing to high import duties.
The move comes as a strategic decision by Volkswagen India considering India's growing SUV demand.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: A sporty SUV
The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is basically a sportier avatar of the regular Tiguan, with sporty design elements but no mechanical upgrades.

It is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that makes 190hp/320Nm.
