Volkswagen Ameo GT Line introduced, priced at Rs. 10 lakh
Volkswagen India has silently introduced the GT Line variant of its subcompact sedan, the Ameo, at Rs. 9.99 lakh. The new model comes with a bunch of cosmetic updates. However, it retains the interiors and mechanics of the standard variant. Meanwhile, the company has revealed the price of diesel-based model, while the price of petrol-powered variant will be announced soon. Here's our roundup.
Volkswagen Ameo GT Line: At a glance
The Volkswagen Ameo GT Line sports a dual-tone paint job with blackened roof, GT Line decals on the side skirts, blacked-out ORVMs, rain sensing wipers, and a new Sunset Red color scheme. For lighting, it houses LED headlamps with DRLs, fog lamps, and LED taillamps. Further, the subcompact sedan also gets a black spoiler on the boot lid and runs on 16-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the Volkswagen Ameo GT Line features a blacked-out five-seater cabin with height adjustable driver seat, anti-glare IRVM, and a multifunctional steering wheel with cruise control. The subcompact sedan comes with a touchscreen infotainment panel, voice command, and a reverse parking camera. Further, the cabin gets dual-front airbags, cooled glove box, and climate control as standard features.
Power and performance
The Volkswagen Ameo GT Line is available with 1.0-liter petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engine options. The petrol unit is capable of producing 75bhp of power and 95Nm peak torque, while the diesel mill churns out 108bhp power and 250Nm torque. For transmission duties, the car gets a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and a 7-speed DSG automatic as optional.
And, what about pricing?
As for the pocket pinch, the Volkswagen Ameo GT Line is priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh for the diesel-based variant. The company has not revealed the pricing of petrol-powered model. However, we expect it to arrive at a price of around Rs. 8 lakh.
