2023 Tata Harrier's variant-wise features explained: Which offers most value?
Tata Motors has revealed the features for each variant of its 2023 Harrier SUV, now available in four overarching trims: Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Fearless. The revamped Harrier boasts a fresh design and boatload of tech-based facilities, with prices likely starting at Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will go head-to-head with competitors such as the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai CRETA, and Kia Seltos.
What about Smart and Pure variants?
The entry-level Smart variant of the 2023 Tata Harrier comes with LED projector headlights with connected LED DRLs, a 7.0-inch digital driver's display, automatic AC, and six airbags. However, it doesn't include front fog lamps or an infotainment panel. The Pure model adds a 10.25-inch touchscreen system, steering-mounted audio controls, a rear-view camera, and a rear window wiper with a washer.
Adventure trim boasts premium additions
The Adventure trim provides premium features such as 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, leatherette seat upholstery, cruise control, push-button start/stop, multi-color mood lighting, and a rear defogger. It also comes with multi-drive modes and terrain response modes. The Adventure+ variant further includes a panoramic sunroof and extra safety features like a 360-degree-view camera and electronic parking brake with auto-hold.
Fearless variant comes fully loaded
The top-tier Fearless trim is equipped with dynamic turn indicators featuring welcome and goodbye animations, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, powered and ventilated front seats, dual-zone AC, and hill descent control. The Fearless+ model adds a gesture-controlled powered tailgate, an upgraded 10-speaker JBL sound system, and a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features.
Powertrain and launch details
Under the hood, the 2023 Tata Harrier houses a 2.0-liter diesel engine generating 167.6hp of power and 350Nm of torque. The mill is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox for handling transmission duties. Tata is anticipated to launch the updated Harrier in the coming weeks, with bookings already open for a token amount of Rs. 25,000.
