Kia to launch three new models in current fiscal year
Kia Motors is preparing to introduce three new models during the ongoing fiscal year. The forthcoming lineup includes two vehicles powered by internal combustion engines (ICE) and one electric vehicle (EV). The first of these, the Kia EV9, is a seven-seater electric SUV scheduled for a late 2024 launch. This vehicle will be fully imported into India, and was unveiled last year.
What does Kia EV9 offer?
The Kia EV9 boasts an impressive range of 541 km in the WLTP cycle. It comes in both single- and dual-motor configurations, providing flexibility for potential buyers. The vehicle sits on the E-GMP platform, sharing its dedicated skateboard EV architecture with other latest Kia and Hyundai electric vehicles. Positioned above the EV6 model, it comes equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment panel, and an all-digital cluster among other features.
Advanced features and amenities of Kia EV9
The Kia EV9 is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), over-the-air (OTA) updates, and connected technology. These features enhance the driving experience by providing assistance and real-time updates. The vehicle also offers various other amenities to ensure a comfortable ride.
Kia Clavis: The compact SUV on the horizon
The second vehicle in Kia's upcoming lineup is the compact SUV, Kia Clavis. Currently under development and internally known as AY, the Clavis has been spied testing both abroad and in India. It is set to have its global debut later this year in South Korea before being launched in various markets including India. The launch date for this lifestyle-oriented vehicle without a 4WD configuration is set for early 2025.
Design and features of the upcoming Kia Clavis
The Kia Clavis will feature rugged design elements, drawing inspiration from the latest Soul model. It is positioned above the Sonet compact SUV in Kia's lineup. The vehicle is designed to offer a spacious cabin and bigger boot for added practicality, catering to lifestyle-oriented customers. In future iterations, the Clavis is tipped to be offered in internal combustion engined, hybrid, and electric versions.
