Upcoming compact SUVs in India from SKODA, Hyundai, and Kia
SKODA, the renowned automobile manufacturer, has announced its plans to launch a new compact SUV in India by March 2025. The upcoming model will be built on the extensively localized MQB A0 IN architecture. It is expected to share several features with SKODA's midsize SUV, the Kushaq. The vehicle has been found testing multiple times and potential names include Kwiq, Kymaq, Kylaq, Kariq, or Kyroq.
A look at the performance of SKODA's compact SUV
The new compact SUV from SKODA will be powered by a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine. This engine is capable of delivering 115hp of power and 178Nm of torque. Customers will have the flexibility to choose between a manual and an automatic transmission for their vehicle. These specifications are expected to provide a robust performance for the upcoming model.
Hyundai Venue's new generation set to debut next year
Hyundai is also preparing to launch the new generation of its popular model, the Venue, next year. The production of this updated car will commence at Hyundai's newly acquired Talegaon plant from GM. Internally referred to as Q2Xi, the 2025 Venue will feature significant updates in design and features. However, no major mechanical changes are expected.
Kia's Clavis model to enter Indian market in 2025
Finally, Kia is set to introduce its Clavis car, also known as Syros, in the Indian market in early 2025. The new model will be positioned between the Sonet and Seltos models in Kia's lineup. The design of the Clavis or Syros will feature distinctive SUV styling, inspired by the popular Soul SUV from international markets. This model is expected to be available in ICE, hybrid, and electric variants.
Advanced features of Kia Clavis
The Clavis will come equipped with a range of advanced features. These include a large touchscreen infotainment panel with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a digital console, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Additionally, the vehicle will feature a panoramic sunroof and a wireless charger. The electric version of the Clavis is set to arrive in the second half of 2025.
