5 new cars set to launch in India this October
The Indian automotive market is gearing up for an exciting October, packed with a variety of vehicle launches. From internal combustion engine (ICE) models to electric vehicles (EVs), there's something for everyone—SUVs, MPVs, and luxury sedans are all on the list. We have already seen numerous launches in the recent weeks and this trend will continue for the month of October as we head into the festive season of Diwali.
Kia Carnival to make a comeback
First up on the launch list is the facelifted Kia Carnival, hitting the roads on October 3. This model brings back the beloved MPV to Indian streets. The updated Carnival will come in a seven-seater setup and two trims: Limousine and Limousine Plus. Expect to see some cool design updates like a wider tiger-nose grille, vertically stacked LED headlamps with 'Star Map' LED daytime running lights, power-sliding doors, fresh 18-inch alloy wheels, and connected LED taillamps.
Kia EV9: A premium electric SUV
Also hitting the market on October 3 is the premium electric SUV, Kia EV9. This model will take over the EV6 as Kia's top model in India. The EV9 will be an imported model, and select dealerships are already accepting unofficial bookings. It will come with a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, multi-color ambient lighting, ventilated front and rear seats, multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, and level-2 ADAS, among other features.
Nissan Magnite (facelift): A refreshed Japanese compact SUV
Nissan has just revealed that the facelifted Magnite is set to launch in India on October 4. They've teased some cool new design elements for this model, like updated alloys and lighting fixtures. The revamped Magnite is likely to come with more comfort features and safety upgrades, while keeping the same engine options as the current model.
BYD eMAX 7: An upgraded electric MPV
The BYD eMAX 7, an upgraded version of the e6, is set to launch on October 8. This electric MPV will feature a new design and updated features. It will be powered by a 71.7kWh battery pack that offers a range of up to 520km on a single charge. The vehicle will also come with fast-charging capabilities, allowing it to charge from 30-80% in just half an hour.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class: A luxury sedan
The last ride on our October launch list is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, expected to go official on October 9. This isn't just any model; it's the eighth-generation E-Class arriving in long-wheelbase avatar. It boasts a completely redesigned interior, featuring a triple-screen setup, four-zone climate control, powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a 17-speaker Burmester 4D sound system. The 2024 E-Class will be available with a 2-liter turbo-petrol or a 2-liter diesel engine, both paired with a mild-hybrid system.
