Exciting new two-wheeler launches looming in India's horizon: Check list
The Indian ICE two-wheeler market is set for a bustling year, with at least 10 new bikes and scooters from brands like Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, Royal Enfield, Yamaha, and KTM. Suzuki plans to launch an updated Access 125, featuring minor aesthetic enhancements and improved functionality. However, the air-cooled engine will remain unchanged. Meanwhile, Hero MotoCorp is preparing to introduce the Xoom 125R and Xoom 160 adventure scooters in India, following their global debut at EICMA last year.
Hero MotoCorp going all-in on Xoom models
Hero MotoCorp's Xoom 125R and Xoom 160 adventure scooters were also shown in India at Hero World 2024 in January. The Xoom 160 will be equipped with a new 156cc engine, and is expected to take on the Aprilia SXR 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155. Meanwhile, Husqvarna Motorcycles has recently patented the Svartpilen 250 in India, indicating a potential launch this year.
What to expect from Bajaj and KTM?
Bajaj is set to cater to a diverse audience with its upcoming launches. A new Chetak variant should hit the market next month, while the Pulsar NS400 is planned for unveiling on May 3, 2024. The flagship Pulsar will be priced around ₹2 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, Bajaj has an innovative CNG bike lined up for debut in June or July. Meanwhile, KTM's new generation 390 Adventure might launch later this year, featuring a host of mechanical and design revisions.
Yamaha and Royal Enfield prepare for new model launches
Yamaha will launch the YZF-R7 and MT-07, both powered by a 689cc twin-cylinder engine. These models will be imported into India in limited numbers in the coming months. Royal Enfield plans to introduce the Guerrilla 450 and Goan Classic 350 in the latter half of 2024. The Guerrilla 450 will be priced around ₹2.50 lakh to compete with Triumph Speed 400. Meanwhile, Goan Classic 350 will feature revised ergonomics and whitewall tires, as a single-seater version of the standard Classic.
