Here's what the upcoming TVS Apache RTR 310 could offer
TVS Motor Company, in partnership with BMW Motorrad, is working on launching another superbike, the Apache RTR 310, in India sometime next year. As per the latest reports, the motorcycle would share its underpinnings and mechanical specifications with its sibling, the RR 310. However, the upcoming sports tourer will reportedly get a different design featuring an aggressive naked streetfighter look. Here are more details.
How will it look like?
Unlike the TVS Apache RR 310 that features a fully-faired sporty design, the upcoming Apache RTR 310 would come with a naked street design with sharp styling cues. The motorcycle would also get a full-color TFT instrument panel with smartphone connectivity. Apart from that, it will offer an ergonomic design with forward-set footpegs and a comfortable riding position.
It will share mechanical specs with the Apache RR 310
The TVS Apache RTR 310 will reportedly share its mechanical specifications with its fully-faired sibling, the Apache RR 310. The motorcycle would draw power from the same 312.2cc engine that comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a slipper clutch. This motor is capable of producing 34PS of maximum power and 27.3Nm of peak torque.
What about safety and suspension setup?
On the safety front, the TVS Apache RTR 310 will come equipped with disc brakes on both the wheels, along with dual-channel ABS - similar to the Apache RR 310. To manage suspension duties, it would house telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock unit on the rear. Plus, the sports tourer is likely to get four riding modes: Rain, Urban, Sport, and Track.
And, how much will it cost?
The official details about the TVS Apache RTR 310 will be revealed at its launch event itself, which could happen sometime in 2021. However, considering the fully-faired RR 310 costs Rs. 2.40 lakh, the naked RTR 310 could be priced around Rs. 2.10-2.15 lakh.
