Triumph Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X witness first price hike
Nine months post their Indian debut, the Triumph Speed 400 and its off-road variant, the Scrambler 400 X, have undergone their first price increase. Both motorcycles have seen an incremental price surge of ₹1,500. The new retail price for the Speed 400 is now ₹2,34,497 while the Scrambler 400 X is priced at ₹2,64,496. The exact reason behind this price hike has not been disclosed by either Bajaj or Triumph.
Triumph's bold pricing strategy and market response
The Triumph Speed 400 initially stirred the industry with its bold pricing strategy, launching at ₹2.33 lakh and offering a promotional price of ₹2.23 lakh for the first 10,000 bookings. The Scrambler 400 X was introduced a few months later at ₹2,62,996. Despite not creating as much buzz as its counterpart's pricing strategy, it remains competitively priced against major rivals from brands like KTM and Royal Enfield.
Performance and market value
Both the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X are powered by a robust 40hp, 398cc engine. They also come equipped with an array of authentic Triumph accessories. Despite the latest price increase of ₹1,500, these motorcycles continue to offer good value in the market.
