The premium car, which is already available in select international markets, comes with a host of luxury features and a 2.5-liter petrol-hybrid motor. Notably, the pre-bookings for the MPV are live at a token amount of Rs. 10 lakh. Here's our roundup.
A look at the Toyota Vellfire
Just like other MPVs, the Toyota Vellfire gets a stretched design featuring a bold front fascia with a chrome-laden grille, wide air-intakes, and power sliding rear doors as well as a powered tailgate. The car houses stylish alloy wheels, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and all-LED fitments for lighting. Furthermore, it measures 4,945mm in length and has a gigantic wheelbase of 3,000mm.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the Toyota Vellfire gets a luxurious six-seater cabin featuring leather upholstery, and captain seats for second and third rows with ventilation function, and electronically operated footrest (for middle row). The car also houses a dual-panel sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment panel, and a host of safety features such as ABS with EBD, driver and passenger airbags, as well as front and rear parking sensors.
Power and performance
Under the hood, the India-specific Toyota Vellfire will pack a 2.5-liter petrol-hybrid motor which is capable of producing 180PS of maximum power and 235Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties on the car are taken care of by an automatic CVT (continuously variable transmission) system which sends power to all the wheels.
Finally, what about pricing?
There is no official word on the pricing of the Toyota Vellfire as of now. However, reports suggest that the car could be priced around Rs. 80 lakh in the country, and will be a direct rival to the Mercedes-Benz V-Class.
