Toyota India halts bookings for Innova Hycross ZX variants again
Toyota has once again suspended bookings for the top-end ZX and ZX (O) variants of its Innova Hycross MPV in India. This decision comes just a month after the company reopened bookings, which were initially halted in April 2023 due to supply issues. The latest suspension is attributed to high demand and an extended waiting period for these specific models.
Innova Hycross ZX variants: Pricing and availability
The ZX and ZX (O) variants of the Innova Hycross are priced at ₹30.34 lakh and ₹30.98 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. As of May 2024, the hybrid model is available in VX and VX (O) variants, which have a waiting period of up to 14 months. Meanwhile, the non-hybrid petrol variants currently have a six-month waiting period. Despite the halt in bookings for top-end models, reservations remain open for other Hycross variants.
Innova Hycross: Powertrain options and new variant
The Innova Hycross offers two powertrain options: a 2.0-liter strong-hybrid engine that delivers 184hp and is paired with an e-CVT gearbox, and a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 173hp and 209Nm torque mated to a CVT. The company recently introduced a new non-hybrid GX (O) variant priced at ₹20.99 lakh. The MPV comes in seven broad trims: G, GX, GX (O), VX, VX (O), ZX, and ZX (O).
Features and competitors of Innova Hycross
The top-end Hycross variants boast features such as 18-inch alloys, dual-zone climate control, Ottoman seats for the second row, a nine-speaker JBL sound system, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The Innova Hycross competes directly with its badge-engineered cousin - the Maruti Suzuki Invicto - along with other seven-seater SUVs like the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar. Prices for the Innova Hycross range from ₹18.92 lakh to ₹30.98 lakh (ex-showroom).
