Toyota's C-HR+ electric SUV debuts with 600km range, sporty looks
What's the story
Toyota has unveiled its latest all-electric SUV, the C-HR+, which was first previewed in 2022 as a concept creation.
The new model will launch in select European markets by late 2025, joining the ranks of Toyota's larger bZ4X and recently introduced Urban Cruiser EV.
The company has ambitious plans to introduce a total of six EVs in international markets by 2026.
Specifications
C-HR+ to be offered with 2 battery options
The new C-HR+ is underpinned by Toyota's e-TNGA platform, which also underpins the bZ4X SUV.
It will be offered with two battery pack options: a 57.7kWh and a bigger 77kWh.
The smaller battery will run the front-wheel-drive model with 167hp, while the bigger one will run both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants of CH-R+, offering up to 343hp.
Performance
C-HR+ promises an impressive range
The new Toyota EV is expected to offer a range of up to 600km on the WLTP cycle.
It will be offered with an 11kW charger as standard, while high-spec models will get a 22kW charger.
The C-HR+ will also support DC fast charging speeds of up to 150kW, ensuring quick recharging capabilities for the drivers.
Aesthetics
C-HR+ design elements and dimensions
The production version of the C-HR+ borrows a lot from its concept model, including the unique 'hammerhead' front-end design and sloping roofline.
The vehicle is 4,520mm long, making it sit above the electric Urban Cruiser SUV.
Though width and height dimensions are still to be revealed by Toyota, it has been claimed that its 2,750mm wheelbase provides more cabin space than competitors.
Comfort
C-HR+ interior features and safety standards
The C-HR+ comes with a host of advanced features such as a 14.0-inch touchscreen, two wireless smartphone chargers, rear AC controls, ambient lights, and a panoramic roof.
The cabin design also features a lot of physical buttons for the user's convenience.
Toyota has also made Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) standard across all variants of the C-HR+, adding an extra layer of safety for drivers and passengers.
