These new Bajaj motorcycles come with BS6-compliant engines
In an attempt to comply with the upcoming emission norms, Bajaj Auto has updated almost its entire line-up with BS6-ready engines. From the Pulsar 180F sports tourer to the Avenger 220 cruiser to the city rider 125 Neon, a host of new models now come with BS6-compliant specifications. Here, we look at the latest Bajaj motorcycles that have received the important engine update.
The bookings for the new models are live
Bajaj Auto dealerships have started accepting the bookings for the updated models and the deliveries are likely to commence soon. The company has not revealed the power figures of the BS6-ready versions as of now, but the new motorcycles are likely to produce marginally lesser power as compared to their BS4 counterparts.
Bajaj Avenger 220 Street and Cruise
Bajaj's powerful cruiser motorcycles, the Avenger 220 Street and Cruise have received the BS6 update. Priced at Rs. 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom), both models feature a similar long-handle look, with the Street model getting a matte-black finish and the Cruise variant sporting a heavy chrome treatment. Further, they are powered by a 220cc single-cylinder engine that generates 19hp of maximum power.
Bajaj Pulsar 180F Neon
The performance-oriented Pulsar 180F Neon is also now BS6-ready. The semi-faired motorcycle features a matte-black paint scheme along with neon graphics on the fuel-tank, fairings, grab-rails, and alloy wheels. It packs a 178.6cc motor that puts out 17.02hp of maximum power and 14.22Nm of peak torque. As for the pocket-pinch, the updated motorcycle is priced at Rs. 1.07 lakh (ex-showroom).
Bajaj Avenger 160 Street
Similar to its 220cc siblings, the Avenger 160 Street has also received the emission-friendly update, and it is now available at Rs. 89,536 (ex-showroom). The motorcycle comes with a retro design and houses disc brake on the front, drum brake on the rear, and single-channel ABS. Powering the cruiser is a 160.4cc engine that makes 15hp of maximum power and 13.5Nm of peak torque.
Bajaj Pulsar 125 Neon
Lastly, the most-affordable motorcycle in the Pulsar line-up, the 125 Neon, is also BS6-compliant. The sports tourer costs Rs. 68,762 and Rs. 73,088 for the drum brake and disc brake variants, respectively. The motorcycle houses a digital-analog instrument cluster and packs a 124.38cc single-cylinder engine which is capable of producing 12hp of maximum power and 11Nm of peak torque.
