Tata Tigor EV gets Rs. 80,000 price-cut post GST reduction
Tata Motors has reduced the prices of its Tata Tigor EV in India by Rs. 80,000. The announcement comes days after the Indian government revised the GST rates on electric vehicles from 12% to 5%. Presently, the Tigor EV is available only for the commercial fleet operators and government officials. Here's our roundup.

The Tata Tigor EV, offered in three variants: XE, XM, and XT, was offered in a price range of Rs. 12.35-12.71 lakh. However, with the latest price reduction, the electric sedan now falls in a price bracket of Rs. 11.58-11.92 lakh.

Tata Tigor EV features a premium design with a cascading front grille, body-colored ORVMs with LED turn indicators, body-colored door handles, and 15-inch alloy wheels. For lighting, the electric sedan houses dual projector headlamps along with fog lamps and LED taillights. Furthermore, it has a boot capacity of 310 liters and a wheelbase of 2,450mm.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the five-seater Tata Tigor EV features a dual-tone cabin featuring greyish accents on the dashboard and AC vents along with Black fabric upholstery. As for the electronic features, the electric sedan sports a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, eight-speaker sound system, and connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
Power and performance
Under the hood, the Tata Tigor EV is powered by a 16.2kWh battery which is capable of producing 40bhp of maximum power at 4,500rpm and 105Nm of peak torque at 2500 rpm. The battery can be fully charged in six hours using a normal household AC charger. However, using a DC 15kW charger it can be quickly powered up to 80% in 90 minutes.
Range and top speed
The Tata Togor EV promises a range of 142km on a single charge and has a top speed of 80kmph. Further, the sedan can accelerate from 0-60kmph in 12 seconds.
Tata Tigor EV: On the road
The Tata Tigor EV comes equipped with disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear wheels along with ABS, EBD, and corner stability control for better road handling. For parking assistance, the sedan gets a rear-view camera & ultra-sonic rear sensors. Furthermore, it sports dual front airbags, engine immobilizer, and seat belt reminder for driver and front passenger.
