Prior to auction, Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition micro-SUV teased
Tata Motors will auction the Kaziranga Edition of its Punch micro-SUV at the upcoming IPL 2022 tournament. Those interested in getting their hands on the model can register their interest on the brand's official website. The company has shared teasers of the special model. It will flaunt cosmetic changes both inside and out, and shall run on an 85hp, 1.2-liter petrol engine.

Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition draws inspiration from the single-horned rhinos native to the Kaziranga National Park in Assam. The proceeds from the vehicle's auction will aid conservation efforts at Kaziranga. The model will offer better looks as compared to the standard Punch, and the company might start mass-producing the four-wheeler later if it wants to boost the vehicle's sales in India.
The car will have Rhino badge and Meteor Bronze shade
The Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition will have a muscular hood, projector headlights with DRLs, a sleek black grille, a wide air vent, and a Meteor Bronze color option. It will be flanked by roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, flared wheel arches, and designer wheels. Wrap-around LED taillamps and a Rhino badge on the windscreen will be available on the rear end.
It will be fueled by an 85hp, 1.2-liter petrol engine
Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition shall draw power from a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine which generates a maximum power of 85hp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 113Nm at 3,300rpm. The gearbox information is currently unavailable.
The vehicle will get five seats and USB chargers
Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition will have a spacious 5-seater cabin, featuring auto climate control, cruise control, a Rhino badge in the glovebox, USB chargers, and a power steering wheel. It will house a touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The safety of the passengers will be ensured by ABS, two airbags, a rear-view camera, traction control, and crash sensors.
Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition: Pricing and availability
The Tata Punch Kaziranga Edition will be a one-off model and its price will depend on the amount raised at the auction. However, the standard Punch falls in the price-bracket of Rs. 5.64-8.98 lakh (ex-showroom).
