Tata Nexon gets a new XT+ variant: Details here
Tata Motors has introduced a new XT+ variant of the Tata Nexon in India. The new model comes as the premium and costlier replacement to the existing XT model. Notably, the XT+ model gets some updated features including a 7-inch infotainment system and LED DRLs. However, it is mechanically same as XT model. Here's more.
Let's take a look at the Tata Nexon XT+
The Tata Nexon XT+ sports a dual-tone paint job with a cascading front grille, sleek headlamps, body-colored ORVMs with turn indicators, roof rails, and a blacked-out treatment on side claddings and roof spoilers. For lighting, the crossover houses projector headlamps along with LED DRLs, fog lamps, and LED taillamps. Furthermore, it has a wheelbase of 2,498mm and a boot space of 350 liters.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the five-seater Tata Nexon XT+ sports fabric upholstery with height-adjustable driver seat and a multifunctional power-steering wheel. Talking about electronic features, the XT+ variant gets an all-new 7-inch infotainment panel with connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Further, the new model also gets manual climate control, rear AC vents, and an eight-speaker audio system.
Power and performance
The Tata Nexon XT+ is offered in two engine options: a 1.2-liter petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel variant. The petrol unit produces 110PS of maximum power and 170Nm of peak torque, while the diesel one churns out the same 110PS power but 260Nm of max torque. Moreover, both the engines are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
Tata Nexon XT+: On the road
On the safety front, the Tata Nexon XT+ comes equipped with disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear wheels along with ABS and EBD for improved road handling. Further, the crossover gets dual front airbags, engine immobilizer for anti-theft provision, a rearview camera, and rear parking sensors.
Finally, what about pricing?
The Tata Nexon XT+ costs Rs. 8.02 lakh for the petrol-powered variant and Rs. 8.87 lakh for the diesel-based model. At this price point, the crossover goes up against rivals such as Toyota Glanza, Hyundai Venue, and Renault Duster.
