Tata Nexon gains new XM+(S) variant: Check features and price
Tata Motors has launched a new mid-spec variant of the Nexon in India. It is called XM+(S) and replaces the XZ trim from the line-up. The new model sits between the XM(S) and XZ+ trims and demands a premium of Rs. 55,000 over the lower-spec XM(S). The SUV is offered in four colors: Calgary White, Daytona Gray, Flame Red, and Foliage Green.
Why does this story matter?
Tata Motors had introduced the Nexon into the sub-4 meter compact SUV category in 2017 and it has been one of the popular models for the brand ever since. The homegrown automaker has also spawned the EV versions of the four-wheeler, known as Nexon EV and Nexon EV MAX. The four-wheeler takes on rivals such as Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai VENUE.
The SUV has an aggressive design and 16-inch alloy wheels
The Tata Nexon has an aggressive design language, featuring a muscular clamshell bonnet, a sleek grille, swept-back projector headlights, a wide air dam, and a skid plate. On the sides, the SUV is flanked by a rising beltline, roof rails, ORVMs, flared wheel arches, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Wrap-around LED taillamps, a shark-fin antenna, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a diffuser grace the rear end.
It is backed by two engine options
The Nexon draws power from a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine that develops 118.3hp/170Nm, and a 1.5-liter turbo-diesel mill that churns out 108.5hp/260Nm. Transmission duties are taken care of by either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox.
The car has a sunroof and rain-sensing wipers
Inside, the Tata Nexon has a spacious five-seater cabin with a dual-tone dashboard, a sunroof, manual AC with rear AC vents, driving modes, cooled glove box, rain-sensing wipers, and a multifunctional steering wheel. The SUV packs a digital instrument cluster and a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen panel with the latest connectivity options. Passengers' safety is ensured by dual airbags, ABS, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

The new trim level of Tata Nexon is available at Rs. 9.75 lakh for XM+(S) Petrol MT, Rs. 10.40 lakh for XMA+(S) Petrol AT, Rs. 11.05 lakh for XM+(S) Diesel MT, and Rs. 11.7 lakh for XMA+(S) Diesel AT (all prices, ex-showroom).
