Tata Nexon EV to make its global debut on December-17
Tata Motors Ltd., one of India's leading automobile manufacturers, has confirmed that it will be unveiling the all-electric version of its Nexon hatchback on December 17. Reportedly, the EV will be based on the facelifted model of the upcoming fuel-powered Nexon. The all-electric crossover is likely to hit the Indian roads sometime in Q1 2020. Here's our roundup.
A look at the Tata Nexon EV
The Tata Nexon EV will look similar to the facelifted version of Nexon. Hence, it is likely to come with a minimalistic design featuring a compact look with dual-tone body color as well as sloping roof design, a cascading grille, and indicator-mounted electronically adjustable ORVMs. Besides that, the car will also offer roof rails, alloy wheels, and projector headlamps with LED DRLs.
Inside the cabin
Quite like the facelifted Nexon, the upcoming EV is expected to offer a five-seater cabin with rear-seat armrest, automatic climate control, and a multifunctional steering wheel. Apart from that, the EV would also house a semi-digital instrument cluster, along with a touch-screen infotainment panel, and standard safety features like dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, and more.
The Nexon EV will come with Ziptron EV technology
According to reports, the Tata Nexon EV will feature an in-house Ziptron EV technology that offers a 300V electric motor and an IP67-rated battery. The details about the power figures of the aforementioned unit are not known as of now. However, it is likely to offer a range of 300km on a single charge.
And, how much will it cost?
The official details about the pricing of Tata Nexon EV are not known as of now. However, according to some reports, the car will fall under Rs. 15-17 lakh price bracket and take on the likes of Hyundai Kona and all-electric Mahindra XUV300.
