Tata Tiago, Punch, and Nexon EVs now cheaper by ₹3L
Tata Motors has announced significant price cuts for its electric vehicle (EV) range as part of the 'festival of cars' campaign. The discounts, which will be in effect until October 31, include a ₹40,000 cut on the Tiago.ev and up to ₹1.2 lakh off on the Punch.ev. The most substantial reduction is seen in the Nexon.ev's price, which has been slashed by up to ₹3 lakh.
New prices aim to boost EV adoption
Following these price reductions, the Tiago.ev begins at ₹7.99 lakh, the Punch.ev starts at ₹7.99 lakh while the Nexon.ev is available from ₹12.49 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Tata Motors stated that this strategic move aims to "mainstream" electric vehicles in India and accelerate their adoption. The firm is also offering a six-month free charging benefit at over 5,500 Tata Power charging stations nationwide, for its EV customers as part of this initiative.
Festive discount scheme excludes certain models
The festive discount scheme from Tata Motors does not extend to other electric models like the Tigor.ev or the recently launched Curvv.ev. However, it has significantly reduced the acquisition cost of Tata EVs and narrowed the price gap between electric and similar petrol/diesel-backed vehicles. The company had also previously lowered prices for Nexon, Harrier, Safari, Tiago, Tigor, and Altroz by up to ₹2.05 lakh as part of this campaign.
