Tata Motors will launch its HBX micro-SUV (might be christened as Hornbill) in India later this year. In the latest development, a lower variant of the car has been found testing, revealing details of its interiors. As per the images, it will have a freestanding music system, door handles in Piano Black finish, and a multifunctional 3-spoke steering wheel. Here are more details.
The car will sport a grille with a tri-arrow design
The Tata Hornbill will have a sleek grille with a tri-arrow design, a muscular bonnet, and a split headlight setup. On the sides, it will be flanked by roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, chunky wheel arches, and dual-tone alloy wheels. An integrated spoiler, wraparound LED taillights, and a bumper-mounted number plate recess will be present on the rear end.
It should run on a 86hp, 1.2-liter petrol engine
The Tata Hornbill should draw power from a BS6-compliant 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine linked to a 5-speed manual or an automatic gearbox for handling transmission duties. The mill should generate 86hp of maximum power.
The vehicle should have a spacious cabin with many features
The Tata Hornbill will have a spacious cabin, featuring squared AC vents with Piano Black surrounds, door handles in Piano Black finish, rear doors equipped with power windows, A-pillar mounted tweeters, a freestanding sound system, a parcel tray, and a multifunctional 3-spoke steering wheel. For ensuring the passengers' safety, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, and a rear-view camera should be available.
Tata Hornbill: Pricing and availability
The pricing and availability details of the Tata Hornbill in India will be revealed at the time of its launch. However, it should carry a starting price tag of around Rs. 5 lakh and will go against Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 NXT.
